ABOUT KORETAIL
Official data only, exactly as published.
KORETAIL combines Korea and Retail.
01 · WHAT
What is KORETAIL?
KORETAIL gathers official data about Seoul's main shopping areas and Incheon Airport into one screen, so you can see how they are moving right now. We do not estimate or invent any value ourselves.
02 · WHO
Who is it for?
For visitors deciding where and when to go in Seoul, for travellers checking Incheon's departure flow before they leave, and for people running a shop in Myeongdong, Hongdae or Seongsu who need to decide today's preparation.
03 · SEOUL
What do you see for Seoul?
For Myeongdong, Hongdae and Seongsu: how busy each is right now including the current headcount range, the busiest hour ahead according to Seoul's own official forecast, what the weather means for your plans, and any events running nearby.
04 · AIRPORT
What do you see for the airport?
Incheon's official expected departures and peak hour, the number of physical departing flights with the busiest gates, and the current wait time and queue size at each departure checkpoint. All terminals, T1 and T2 can be viewed separately.
05 · DATA
Which data do you use?
Seoul real-time city data, Seoul's short-stay foreign living population, Seoul's commercial-district sales estimates, KMA short-term weather forecasts, KTO TourAPI events, and Incheon Airport's flight, departure-hall congestion and passenger forecast datasets. All are public official sources.
06 · KINDS
How do live, forecast and past differ?
"Live" is something just observed, "official forecast" is what Seoul or Incheon Airport published about the future, and "past record" is settled and will not change. These three are never merged into one number.
07 · TIME
What does "as of" mean?
It is the moment that value was actually observed or published. Different datasets update on different cycles, so not every number on screen shares one timestamp — which is why each item carries its own. All times are Korea Standard Time.
08 · LIMITS
What should you keep in mind?
These numbers are not sales or visitor counts. Total airport passengers are not foreign visitors, and flights concentrating at a gate does not mean the departure hall is crowded. When a source publishes late, this screen is late too — and in that case we show "unavailable" instead of inventing a value.
